For more than thirty years, my work in education and leadership has been shaped by a simple belief: that people flourish when they are seen, supported, and invited to live from what is most true in them. Alongside that work, horses have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, steady companions and unexpected teachers who have shown me what presence, honesty, and quiet courage look like in motion.
My writing gathers these threads together. memoir, equestrian experiences, spiritual development, each one explores the ways we return to ourselves, especially in seasons of transition or becoming.
This space is a home for those stories, and the unfolding work of a life lived close to the land, rooted in embodied ways of being, and attentive to the quiet movements of the soul and the questions that shape us. I am grateful you are here.

I Love You More Than Horses is the first book in a six‑part series that helps children learn essential character skills through the gentle, honest world of horses. Each page introduces one of the PARIS principles—Presence, Authenticity, Reverence, Integrity, and Stewardship—through real horses at Equine Paths, a non-profit, and the children who care for them. With lyrical storytelling and watercolor illustrations created from real photographs, this book teaches young readers how to listen, notice, breathe, and respond with kindness. For years I traded a suit for boots at the end of the day and never noticed I was changing more than clothes. The horses noticed. They don't respond to titles or composure, only to what's true. They showed me the gap between the woman I presented and the woman I was, and slowly, they walked me back.
Horses and Holy Ground follows the horses of an Alabama farm through five practices: Presence, Authenticity, Reverence, Integrity, and Stewardship. Together, these form P.A.R.I.S., a path back to an undivided life. Each chapter pairs a horse's story with a reflection, a practice to try, and a prayer.
Part story, part field note, part prayer, this book is for anyone ready to slow down, listen closely, and find that the ground beneath them was holy all along, even when they didn't know it.
